Never going to back out

... and thankfully neither are my colleagues. Band shirt for work shirt, check.

Next Friday, hat day.

Lest we forget

It's national 'wear your band tee to work' day. Come on kids let's all join in.

And not having one is no excuse. Make one. Check out my interpretation of Iron Maiden.

And then the one done by a professional visualiser.

Damn, I'm good at drawing. You can barely tell the difference between his and mine.

Snowmen done

Am actually a little behind on these. We actually finished making the snowmen Wednesday morning and shot the work card (our agency's Christmas card) Wednesday afternoon- was a bit of rush.

So four working days (6 project days total) later we were finally done. Bit of anti-climax though. Not sure what to do now. Though I'm sure I won't lay dormant for too long. There's sure to be a few more vids shot with the Snowy men. Here are the results though.

Neu, neu, neu

Heard this yesterday, am very excited about it. Shares more than just a track name's similarity with Passion Pit if you ask me.
Like it, like it, like it alot.

Blip, blip, over and out.

Leslie Nielsen

Tis always a sad day when funny men kick buckets. God bless ol' Leslie.

Ahem, EVERYONE SHOULD DO THIS!

... even if you don't have a band t-shirt, make one! Make up the band, design an original one for your favourite band or even better do a copy of a classic

... and playing catch up

Christmas came early last weekend. I got a rather large box full of old cameras.

Sad, maybe, and very definitely dusty, but still my idea of a little bit of heaven. Have not yet had chance to play with all of them. Got to track down some suitable spools for some, and clean a lot of the them up. Have started to play about with the Ensign. All seems in working order, but I guess only the developed pics will tell.

A few nice things from today...

Some nice music from this morning, sweet little track.

Mexican Mavis - Boy & Bear by MusicManners

And then a for a festive feel and jingly bells bit of big band and Frank while Casey and I completed the snowmen.

Not your normal mash-up

Some days you just got to love what you do. Yesterday was one of those days. It's not often you can buy multiple medicine balls, cover yourself in PVA and wear bin liners as a part of a career. But yesterday I did.

Misguided? Maybe. But thoroughly enjoyable.

I can't yet reveal the reasons for the PVA paper mache mash-up in Dave the caretaker's shed...

(soundtrack supplied by
Crystal Castles - Air War by move your ass)

... but when the time comes, all will become clear.

A bit of a Cadbury's theme to this, with a glass and a half (of PVA).

Then got distracted by fabulously shiny object in the corner...
And the Cadbury's theme made another appearance. Can't help but think I could've been in a Smash ad.

Door 22

Nice

Bit labour intensive for Christmas snacks but worth it.

Playing catch-up with Door 21

Tenuous I know, but there's jingly bells on this (at least for the beginning there is). And besides it's just a cracking track and in no way crap-tastic.

What to do for N.Y's E

This is defo the answer.

Seems to be a day for nostalgia too. saw !!!, hmmmmmm must be 5 years ago now. Knew they were mad then. Have you seen the frontman dance? But good. Boy, what a party.

Door 19

What can I say I'm feeling generous today. Two Christmas treats (neither crap-tastic) behind today's overhasty countdown door.

And the next, something also very, very lovely. In fact I'll just come out and say it, tilt shift, I think I love you.

Probably been seen a hundred times before, and have to confess I'm racking up a few views of this myself, but both soundtrack and technique deserve to be watched, re-watched and admired over and over again.

What clever sausages those boys are...

Mira Calix and Flat-E

Be nice to work with these one day. Beautiful voice, beautiful visuals.

Swimming with the fishes

A day spent mostly managing (just about) to stay afloat, ended with the fishies.

Probably a good thing it IS nearly the end of the day...

Door 17 and 18

Bit of a cheat, but based on the fact that it was also Heart FMs DJ's first Christmas song of the year, I am re-posting George Michael's 'Last Christmas' as the treat lurking behind door 17.

And for door 18, to celebrate the opening of Birmingham Christmas Market here's a little Strumpit (a Brummie gypsy trio). Just one of many bands who'll be playing the bandstand. The significance being that's the one we'll be seeing on our work trip to the markets.

Door 16

Owing to workload, I'm a little tardy on posting Door 16. So here's 16.

This is my effort for work's Christmas card. You may be able to see a bit of a theme forming here. Again, due to having a good dealing of copy to be writing- really thrilling stuff that that left me cognisantly dry- I was left a little time poor. And this is the result.

Shame, I'd had a cracking idea for one that involved charades.

Door 14 and 15 (Christmas is coming)

Double whammy of Christmas craptastic.

Door 14, Merry spuffing Christmas, that's right Christmas sperm! Well that's what I'm seeing.

Door 15, the first Christmas song I heard this year, George Michael's 'Last Christmas'.
